We were contacted by the client to install some window film to various areas of their school in Bermondsey, London. They wanted to combat their heat and glare problem in their classrooms, as well as bringing the glazing up to current regulations in other areas of the school. They also wanted to have a frosted finish in their gallery area.
After surveying the building and several meetings, Tintfit recommended using our Reflective Silver 20 100 Micron window film in the classrooms because this film combines both solar control with safety and security. The Reflective Silver 20 100 Micron film reduces heat by 80% and glare by 83% and also upgrades the glazing to current EN12600 (2B2) regulations. Tintfit also recommended using our Clear 100 Micron window film as this film is used on buildings to strengthen glass where in the event of impact the glass will shatter but the film will hold the shattered pieces of glass firmly in place and also upgrades the glazing to current EN12600 (2B2) regulations. Tintfit also recommended using our White Frost window film for the gallery area of the school because it has a frosted white appearance from both inside and out. It also gives total privacy as you cannot see in or out but still allows a good level of natural light to pass through.
The client decided go ahead with Tintfit’s recommendations. The Reflective Silver 20 100 Micron window film was applied to 391 panes of glass measuring approximately 283 square metres, the Clear 100 Micron window film was applied to 15 panes of glass measuring approximately 12 square metres and the White Frost window film was applied to 28 panes of glass measuring approximately 25 square metres. The work was carried out during the half term holidays and caused no disruption to the day to day running of the school.
